What to write..... what to write...

Well, first off my family is arriving in two weeks! My parents, grandpa and brother Matthew are making the trek down. Especially proud of my grandpa since he is flying from Ontario and is in his late 70's.

I have nearly everything together for the wedding. There will of course be a few last minute things but for now I feel I have a good handle on everything. Glad I stayed on top of the wedding plans!

My family will be staying here where I live for about a week before we will head up the coast to do some exploring. Barney will be going back to work as I spend quality time with my parents and grandpa. Matthew will be going off to do his own exploring and will visit friends in Perth as well.

Everyone seems to be pregnant or recently having babies. Lots of people I went to highschool with are in that category as well as many others. My sister is also expecting her second and is due in August. Some days I feel jealous. I would love to start a family with Barney but we still want some time to ourselves and to strengthen our marriage before a baby comes around. One day God willing it will be our time.

Tomorrow is our work Christmas party.... yes at the end of February. The Christmas period is just too busy so we party a little later on. The theme is superheroes, cartoon characters and fairytales. Three coworkers are going as Shrek, Donkey and the Gingerbread man from Shrek. I'm going as wonderwoman. Barney isn't going because he decided to work instead. It should be a lot of fun! I'll post pictures if I remember :)

That is about all that is happening from the sunny and hot land of Oz.... Autumn begins on Tuesday and I couldn't be happier to see the days get cooler...

Immigration

My visa papers have been mailed out and since I have been granted a bridging visa. This means that I can go to my wedding!

My bridging visa takes affect when my current visa expires on March 2nd. My bridging visa just allows me to stay in the country until my other visa is decided. Hopefully, it won't take too long to have that decision made. Once that visa is granted, it allows me to stay here in Australia for another 2 years and than we have to start the lovely process again....oh the joys of immigration.



Not much else is new over here. We had Thursday off and went out on a date. We went to a seafood restaurant and it wasn't good food at all. Very disappointing. Following dinner we went to a surf film festival which was great. They had a live musician who played the harmonica, drum, guitar and tambourine all at the same time. He was so good! A lot of his music was featured in the surf films.



The first film featured America surfer Jamie O'Brien and he was great. Incredible to watch the surf in some of the biggest waves in the world. The second film featured some unknown aboriginal australian surfers and it was good too. The quality of surfing wasn't near as good as the first one. But the did show dolphins surfing the waves and whales so I was happy :)




Since then we've both been working lots. We were both given Valentines Day off tomorrow so we will spend the day together. If its nice we'll go for a bikeride and do some exploring than Barney said he would cook me a nice dinner. No complaints there!

I have some thought swirling in my mind for a post about respect triggered by the surf film festival so that could be up next around here!
