It was quite simple really. I didn't try.
When I left for Australia I was about 20 pounds heavier than I am now. Once I started living on my own I subconsciously started eating three meals a day. I actually ate breakfast (fruit and yogurt), I would eat lunch before going to work, than I would bring leftovers with me to work for dinner. I wouldn't say that I ate really healthy. I love stirfry so half my diet was that which in return gave me lots of vitamins etc from all the veggies. I still ate a lot of icecream and candy but it didn't seem to matter too much. I also cut out snacking, besides the icecream and candy. It really seemed to help. Oh.. I might mention that I ate out about 5 times in 9 months.
The second thing I did was walk more. I had no choice since I didn't have a car so I walked to work everyday. I wouldn't drive anyways since it was only a 5 minute walk. But if I wanted to go anywhere, I had to walk or wait for the bus which only came everyone 1.5 hours.
I never really set out to lose weight but it happened naturally with just two minor lifestyle changes. Not complaining about it that's for sure! I am glad I was able to lose the weight because I feel so much healthier now.
Eat proper meals. Cut out snacking. Eat in more. Walk more. Take the stairs. It seems too easy but if you have the right mindset and want to get healthy, you can do it. I'll be honest, its been tougher maintaining it since I have been home since I don't have a gorgeous beach to walk down as motivation and its hard to get out when its raining. I have just been going to the gym a few times a week to make up for it.
Enough ramblings.... just thought I would share those thoughts!
Have a happy week
