Forever Pregnant

Here I am at 31 weeks and I feel like I have been pregnant forever. By the time I get to hold this baby in my arms, I would have been pregnant for 12.5 out of the last 15 months due to our loss last year. That is a long time to be pregnant but I am incredibly grateful to be pregnant with a healthy little boy. This pregnancy is just going ridiculously slow.

This is me pregnant with Myles at 36 weeks.

This is me pregnant now at 31 weeks. I think the bumps are nearly the same size and I still have 9 weeks to go!

I have had many comments about how big I am. It doesn't bother me, I cant control how much my uterus grows! I have also had many comments from guests at work asking me why I am still working. I generally feel pretty good so why not!? I worked until 34 weeks with Myles and plan to go a longer this time as I am casual instead of full time.

I have been eager to start moving furniture around to prepare for the baby but I have to wait until we paint. Instead, I starting rearranging what I could in Myles' room. His change table used to be where his dresser is but since it will be moving out for the baby, I swapped it over. Have I ever mentioned how much I love his room? I do... it is boyish without being over the top with trains and cars. It reflects the ocean and where we live!

This is the other half of Myles room, which is very messy at the moment. The crib and the change table will be coming out and wardrobes will be moving into the space. I will do before and after pictures once it is all done. The crib is full of the stuff for the baby but don't have any space to put it until all the other furniture is moved around. It isn't ideal but space in our house is limited so we make do!

The picture above the crib is also from our Vanuatu trip when we were pregnant with Myles. I love having personal pictures hung on our walls.

Still more work to be done but at least it is a start. Although, I think I bruised my pelvis while moving the dresser by myself so maybe it wasn't the best idea as I am quite sore and now waddling around the house. Isn't pregnancy just glamorous!?

Baby Boy at 30 Weeks

This morning I went for an ultrasound to check my placenta, babies heart and overall growth.

The sonographer isn't allowed to give too much away but she informed me that my placenta was still quite low lying. If it is still low in 4 weeks I will be having an elective C-section. This will be confirmed with my doctor next week.

Below: Baby boy's face and fist punching me. He was lying transverse which Myles always did as well until the last couple of weeks.

At my last ultrasound we were told boy but it wasn't completely clear to me. The sonographer said she was glad she knew what we were having because it was very obvious as seen below. Most definitely another boy in there!

She didn't tell me anything about the growth, but the measurement results were shown in my pictures and I could figure them out quite easily.

I am currently 30 Weeks and 2 Days

Head circumference: 94th percentile/32 Weeks 4 days. This made me so happy as they were worried his head was measuring too small before.

Estimated Weight: 1.7kg or 3lbs 3oz, in the 88th percentile. At this rate I will be having a big baby!

Heart Rate: 144bpm as seen below.. perfect!

The lady started laughing near the end and said this boy was being stubborn. It seemed like he was twitching but she told me the movements was him practicing breathing and working out his chest muscles. So amazing!

I am very happy with these results but will wait until I see my doctor to get the rest of the results including my placenta location and if the heart opening has closed itself.

We are so excited to be having another son and are thankful he is happy and healthy, even if he is a bit cheeky :)

Home Sweet Home

I have been home for nearly two weeks and it has been wonderful! My little seaside town definitely feels more like home than anywhere else. It was so nice having a big smile and hugs from my boys when I got home.

Barney took the first two pictures while I was away. He had a good time while I was in Canada and got lots done around the house including painting our bathroom and having our kitchen finished! Well, we just have to do a bit of tiling and then its done.

Where's Myles?

There he is! He is obsessed with his letter flashcards at the moment. He can identify the whole alphabet. I don't know why but he loves the letter 'N'. Toddlers are strange :)

Yesterday, Barney and I tackled the garage. We took some old shelving from the house we bought and put it into our own garage to organize it better. We started by emptying the garage, building the shelves and then organizing everything into storage tubs. I am so happy with how it turned out.

A lot of the boxes are baby clothes but they will be staying in the garage until we do more painting inside, rearrange the bedrooms and build two dressers to fill with baby clothes! We should probably get a start on it.

We have been looking for a dining table for a while and haven't found anything we like for a decent price. We decided to stop by our local recycling centre and found a dining table and four chairs for a bargain price of $40. It is in used condition but we figured with having two young kids, there was no point of spending hundreds of dollars on a new one that could be trashed. This way we don't have to worry about water stains etc plus it is the perfect size for our kitchen.
