My boyfriend Barney booked his flight to come visit me and is coming in 54 days! Needless to say I am very excited. I have not seen him in 4 months and that is just lame if I do say so myself.
In other things, life continues to plug along. I haven't really worked at all since the end of November due to VANOC doing all of their preparations for the Olympics. I hope to be back to work full time next week. I'm sure a lot of people would enjoy this much time off of work but I tell ya, I sure don't. I thoroughly enjoy working and am eager to get back. I am too bored at home. My room can only get so clean. I may change my mind in the coming weeks about having this time off since as of January 12, we are open 7am-7pm and as of January 28, we will be fully operational 24 hours a day. Working at an Olympic venue (or two - the International Broadcasting Center and the Main Press Center) will be crazy busy but I think it will be a lot of fun. We are estimated to serve 80,000 meals in the 16 days of the Olympic games. Not to mention we will have 12,000 people working in the building daily who need to eat and I'm sure will consume gallons upon gallons of coffee. They actually built a McDonalds inside my building along with a bank, massage parlor, laundry facilities, gift shops, thousands of offices, two coffee shops and 2 food courts just to name a few. The unreal thing is, is that they are scheduled to take everything apart and have the convention centre open for regular business just 2 weeks after the Paralympics are complete.
That is just a taste of what my life is going to be like for the next two months. I will be living at a friends house downtown Vancouver for the month of February which is a blessing. Thankfully my boss has given me 10 days off between the Olympics and Paralympics for Barney's visit. I'm sure it will be a much needed break.
That is all for now! Wish me luck... :)

Good Luck.
I totally understand the not having work thing. It sucks. I don't know what to do with myself. Thankfully they are finally getting their act together. Good old VANOC.
Good luck lynn - it's going to be a crazy next couple months!
