Engaged

I'm getting married and I couldn't be happier.

Well, I could be. Barney had to fly out the day after we got engaged and I won't see him for several more months. But, I have a lifetime to spend with him so that makes it all better.

It was a simple proposal, but very much 'us'.

I am applying for a spousal visa so that I can return to Australia and be with Barney. One of the requirements is to write a letter describing your relationship from the moment you met to now. Barney spent all day Tuesday writing it and didn't let me look at it because he wanted to read it to me later. Later that evening I went downstairs to a burning fireplace and candles lit. He even laid out my sesame street blanket by the fire. He read his letter to me and at the end of it he said that he never wanted to spend another day without me in his life and that he loved me very much. After that he asked me to marry him and I said of course. He than pulled out the ring and slipped it on my finger. It's beautiful.

It is weird to think that when I was preparing to go to Australia I knew that I was going to meet my husband there. God told me so and many of my family and friends felt it too. I am so thankful for Barney in my life. He is patient, kind and loving. He takes care of me. He is a positive person and brings out the best in me. I love him. And I miss him dearly.

Each day will get easier than the last. Each day will bring me closer to him again. I can't wait to have him in my arms again.

Even though I never got a chance to meet him, I trust your judgement, and I know he's perfect for you. congrats!!
