Gift Giving

I love to give gifts. I always have.

Since our wedding anniversary is 10 days before Christmas we decided not to give each other gifts. We were just going to treat ourselves to a nice dinner out and maybe go see a movie.

I really wanted to give Barney something for our anniversary so we agreed to give each other something small. I was just hoping to get some flowers :)

I woke up and Barney was cooking me breakfast and I glanced around. No flowers. Hmmm... (Selfish, I know) After breaky we decided to give each other gifts.

I got Barney a stick blender set since he really wanted one after I broke the last one a few months ago. I got a really nice one with all the fittings. I figured it was something small and practical.

I opened my gift and immediatly started crying. He bought me a diamond watch!! I briefly mentioned I needed a watch for work a week or so ago and he delivered. I didn't even think he was paying attention to me when I told him that. My watch is beautiful. I felt stupid though. He gives me a diamond watch and I give him a stick blender. A stick blender!! How embarrassing.

Oh well... I have spoiled him for Christmas so hopefully I can make up for my lack of an anniversary gift.

Thankfully, its not all about presents.

I'm just blessed to have a great husband, great family and friends and a beautiful puppy.

Even more so, I've been given the best gift in the form of a baby in a manger. It's the season to remember and reflect on what God has given us, His Son. And for that, I am very grateful.
