Garden

Sorry about my lack of blogging... I've had a few ideas stirring in my head but low and behold, that's where they stayed.

Over the last few weeks Barney and I have built a veggie/herb garden and finally finished it yesterday! It took a little longer than we hoped because we had to dig out some big tree roots with an axe since we didn't have a chainsaw. Here it is...

The beginning.... there used to be a big coral tree here but we got it removed about a year ago because its a pest. We recently got the stump grinded out.

First we transplanted the grass that was growing, put into pots and moved it to the front yard.

Bottom border done

We decided to add a top layer as well.

The veggies and herbs ready to go in

Done! We are growing rosemary, oregano, basil, thyme, lemon thyme, parsley, chives, red and purple capsicum (peppers)and we'll eventually add some trellis (sp?) and grow snowpeas.

We used our compost in the soil and this avocado was growing in the compost bin! We were going to transpant it but they're difficult to grow.

Our macadamia tree is in full fruit but we have no idea what to do with them! I guess we'll have to google that one.

A photo of Jessie because shes just too cute ;)

And finally, we edged the back fern garden while we were at it!

I'm so thankful that we got it all done and it turned out well. Let's just hope everything grows well and Jessie doesn't help herself!

And that my friends is our new garden...
