Tasmania

Barney and I just finished a week long trip to beautiful Tasmania so I thought I would share our trip day to day. For those who dont know, Tasmania is an Australian island state that sits on the south east side of Australia. It is often referred to as "God's country".

Day 1: Launceston to Freycinet National Park

We flew in early from Sydney and arrived at about 930am. From the airport we picked up our campervan and off we went! It was about 30 minutes into the trip when I rememebered something about myself. I get car sick! The first hour or so was a very windy road through the mountains heading east. Thankfully we went through a small town and I managed to pick up some tablets and felt better soon after.

Our first stop was at the Pyengana Cheese Factory. As soon as we arrived we looked across the street in the cow paddock and a calf had just been born! It was amazing to see it trying to stand up for the first time. The cheese was pretty good too!

Just down the road we went to some waterfalls. They were pretty dry as Tasmania hasn't had much rain lately but were still nice.

We continued towards the coast and went to the Bay of Fires which was gorgeous! The sand was pearly white and the rocks orange.

We continued south to Freycinet national park where we found a quiet spot by the ocean to sleep for the night. The east coast was gorgeous so we decided to go back and explore more the next morning!

Finally..... a little echidna we saw on our first day of driving :)
