House Update

Sorry about the lack of blogging! Since arriving back from our holiday, we have been plagued with sickness. Myles had a cold and conjunctivitis and last week they thought he had hand, foot and mouth disease but thankfully he doesn't! I spent a day in hospital due to severe gastro so I had to go on a drip to get fluids into me. Barney got Myles' cold then kindly passed it on to me.

So, we are all nearly better and getting back to our routine. I missed 2 weeks of work and Myles missed 2 weeks of day care. Not fun at all. I must say that Barney has been extra awesome. He has taken care of all of us while working full time, even coming home and walking the dog, cooking dinner and doing Myles' bedtime too. He's pretty great.

While we were in Cancun we had an extension put on our house as I mentioned before. To save money, we agreed to do the painting and flooring ourselves so these are yet to be done but hopefully we can get a start this weekend now that we are all feeling better. The extra space is awesome and I look forward to getting a kitchen table and dishwasher.

We are going to shift the oven wall around so from left to right it will be the pantry, stove, extra cupboard, and dishwasher joining the existing sink area. We will have extra bench tops run over the dishwasher and cupboard for more counter space too. I can't wait to have it all done!

We also shifted our backdoor from being on the back wall, to the side wall so we have more room for a dining table too.

Now we just have to get our back sides in gear and get it done! Barney's stepdad even volunteered to paint the ceiling which I think is the worst job. We are so grateful to have Barney's parents come help us out too. I look forward to showing you the end result!
