It is so hard to believe that Myles is closer to one than he is from being born! Time is flying by and it is sad that my little baby is becoming a big baby.
(Got to be quick with the camera!)
Myles is doing well. He had his shots on Tuesday and has been off all week because of it. Today he seems to be nearly back to himself thankfully! He has also been waking more at night so it could also be a growth spurt. I think it actually might be because when I got him up from his nap this afternoon, he actually looked bigger!
He weighs 8.1kg or 18lbs (he is solid but in the 60th percentile)
He is 67.5cm long (60th percentile)
And his head is 45cm (85th percentile)
We have casually started solids. He loves apples and pears. I give him one to two feeds of solids a day but it is still more for him to get used to it and not really a meal yet.
He is sitting up with pillows behind him in case he falls. He can roll from back to tummy well but can't roll from tummy to back. Once he is on his tummy though, he can shuffle around so we have to watch him extra close now.
I love watching him learn and figure out his world. It is always just a small thing but you can see his mind working away. Example: he was in the bath last night and holding his rubber duck. He kept putting it towards his mouth but couldn't fit it in. So he kept staring at it and turning it slightly until he managed to get the beak of the duck in his mouth. So clever. It took him about 5 minutes and it was adorable. It's the small achievements we need to celebrate.
We have also started him on formula. I am set to go to work soon so we are trying to get him used to the bottle. He will take the bottle but is very slow at drinking even if he is really hungry. I know he will get the hang of it soon and I will stop breastfeeding once he is confident with the bottle.
I can't believe how much I love our little man. Although he has his moments, he is generally always happy and loves to smile and laugh.
Happy 6 months Myles, we love you!
