A Look Back at 2015

Wow! What a year it has been. It has probably been the biggest year of challenges and growth in our little family but I am thankful for it all.

January: Our chunky little man started day care! That first day of dropping him off was so hard and I may have cried on my drive home. Thankfully, he has grown to love it there and has a great group of friends and care takers.

February: I have hardly any pictures from February! I just remember that it was hot and we spent lots of time playing outside. Myles was fully walking by now and keeping us on our toes!

March: Myles turned one! We had a lovely little party with close friends and went out for lunch with Barney's family to celebrate. Shortly after his party, Myles became very sick which then passed on to me and continued to be bounced around for a few months. It was tough and we even considered taking Myles out of day care as he was constantly getting sick from there, but we persevered and he has been much healthier since.

April: We celebrated my parents 30th anniversary with a family trip to Cancun! We made the most of travelling a long distance and stopped in Fiji on the way there for a few nights. We had a lovely time spent with my family! In Cancun we found out we were pregnant again.

May: I have no pictures from May. All I remember was being extremely sick with morning sickness and even had a little trip to hospital due to dehydration from constant vomiting. I hardly worked this month as Myles was sick a lot too. This was definitely a challenging time for our family.

June: The hardest month of all for this year. On June 3rd we found out we lost our little baby. This could explain the severe sickness from the month before. A week after we found out I went to hospital to have a D&C as my body had not miscarried naturally for the previous 5 weeks. The positive side was that I had exceptional care from the hospital staff who made me feel at ease. I also felt so much better immediately after the procedure and my sickness soon passed. I took a few weeks off of work and returned when I was ready. The love and support we felt over this time was amazing. I have the best family and friends.

This little man made the grieving process easier. Incredibly thankful for him!

July: We enjoyed a beautiful winter here full of sunny days. I decided to pick up an annual pass to our local petting zoo and began taking Myles there. We have gone about 4 times since July. We just did lots of bush walking and exploring!

August: My highlight this month was attending the Empower Her conference in Sydney with a group of ladies from my church. God really spoke to me and I was able to really heal from my miscarriage and begin to move on and start trying for another baby.

September: We took our annual weekend away to a small town called Old Bar, about 2 hours north of where we live. We love going away every September as the weather is perfect! We stayed in a little cottage that was pet friendly so Jessie was able to come with us too. We had an amazing weekend away and felt very relaxed. We also celebrated Barney's birthday with a fancy dinner date in Newcastle.

October: We found out we are expecting again! We got to see our little ones heart beating nice and strong much to our relief!

November: We bought a house as an investment property! More details on this one later as we are meant to sign contracts on Monday.

December: We celebrated 5 years of marriage! Myles is growing into a big boy more each day. We also started giving him his naps in his big boy bed as we prepare for baby 2.

It has been a crazy year with lots of up and downs but we are looking forward to a great 2016. We'll have a 2 year old, new house to do up, new baby and maybe some travels too... we will see!!
