Recent Days

Last Sunday Barney and I went on a date day! We had 6 hours of blissful time without our toddler in tow. We dropped Myles and Jessie off at Barney's parents house for the day then drove into Newcastle for lunch. We tried a new café and it was lovely! Great service, great food... great start to the day!

Next stop was to go see Cirque du Soleil's Quidam. We had great seats (Barney bought them in June!) and really enjoyed the show. This was the 7th Cirque show I have seen and it never gets old. I have see 2 in Vancouver, 3 in Australia and 2 in Vegas (Mystere and Ka). The travelling shows definitely don't compare to the Vegas ones but what do you expect when the Vegas shows have permanent theatres to perform in.

We then did the grocery shopping in peace before heading back to get Myles and have dinner with his parents. It was such a lovely day together.

Today I again drove into Newcastle to visit a friend who I met through our hospital antenatal class. Our boys were born 9 days apart and it was fun to see them play together! We went to a big park that had lots of water to splash in and it was fully fenced in (bonus!). Myles was awake before 6am so as soon as I put him into the car, he fell asleep until we got home about an hour later. Thankfully I was able to put him back into bed and he slept another 2 hours. He loves to nap!

After our naps we went to the beach as a family for a swim. Well, I don't swim but everyone else did. We have a nice big dog beach here so we went there so Jessie could have a swim too. Myles is getting braver each time and walked all the way out to his neck. He did go under a few times but we quickly rescue him and he continues to play without crying.

I hope you had a lovely weekend too!
