6 Weeks

Our Charlie Bear is 6 weeks old already! I can't believe how slow pregnancy goes and how fast the new born days go.

I'm grateful to say that Charlie has been a great baby. He eats and sleeps well and is generally settled. He is getting up twice a night and his first stretch is usually around 5 hours which is nice. He had his 6 weeks check up and vaccinations yesterday and here are his stats:

Weight: 5.73kg/12lbs 6oz - up just under 2kg or 4lbs from birth (97th percentile)
Height: 57cm - up 4cm from birth (75th percentile)
I don't remember his head details but I know its now in the 60th percentile

(This picture was taken from the beach that our investment property overlooks. I can't wait to have these sunsets every night when we move there in a few years!)

Needless to say he is growing well! I think being on formula has definitely helped pack on the pounds. We also just have solid children. Myles has always been solid/heavy but not overweight and it looks like Charlie is following suit. Charlie was a bit unsettled after his shots but seems to be back to normal.

I also had my blood levels checked. My haemoglobin levels are back to normal (yay!) but my saturated iron levels are still quite low. I have started taking a liquid iron supplement so I am hoping this helps boost up my levels. I certainly feel better when I am taking iron I will keep doing so until it regulates itself. My incision has healed up great so I am hoping to start exercise more and shed this baby weight. My friend has started a facebook group for our mum friends to promote healthy eating habits and lifestyle choices. It has been great to share our healthy recipes and hold each other accountable as we all want to better ourselves and families.

Charlie was not enjoying his baths in the sink so I decided to have a bath with him and he loved it! Myles was the same and still prefers one of us to bath with him.

Barney and I got to go on a date while Myles was at day care so we went and saw Jason Bourne. The movie was really good and it was nice to have some time together with just Charlie. The movie theatre has a sound proof room up the back so you can bring your babies and no one can hear them crying. Charlie just slept anyways.

We were hoping to have our annual weekend away in September but might try and get away for a night in October with my family instead when they are here to visit. My parents, brother Matthew, his wife Heather and daughter Gabrielle are coming to visit and we are excited! I really appreciate when my family make the trek out to visit.

Life is good!
