Our Sweet Two Year Old

Here is a little update on Myles! Sorry family... it's the same update that I had emailed you :)

Myles is great. He is still a very laid back boy but has started to throw some pretty good tantrums when he doesn't get his way. Some of them are just ridiculous but he is two so what can we expect. I don't think he really understands that he is going to be a big brother but he likes to lift up my shirt and pat my belly saying "baby" and give it kisses. It's very sweet. Sometimes out of the blue he says "I love baby" and it melts our hearts. He loves to help out with everything around the house so hopefully this eagerness continues when his brother arrives.

Myles is obsessed with learning so we are trying to encourage him without pushing him too hard. Most of it he learns from day care. He can read and recite by memory the whole alphabet, numbers 1-12 (forwards and backwards), all the basic colours, and animals etc. He even taught us the colours of the rainbow in sign language the other day. Last night I put on a youtube video of signing the rainbow and he was laughing so hard at it that he couldn't breath. It was hilarious!

His latest is learning the days of the week and he knows them all except for Wednesday and Saturday. I picked up the chart below a few weeks ago and he loves it. Every day we go through it. They do the same at day care so I figure it wouldn't hurt to continue it on the days he is at home. He can spell his name out loud by memory, as well as mum, dad, nan and pop. He amazes us with how much he knows considering we didn't teach him most of it. It also means he wants to be stimulated a lot of the time which can be a challenge but he is still happy to sit and play with his blocks or trains.

We love watching him grow, learn and discover the world around him. He makes us laugh and smile. We are so thankful for him and are excited to see the little boy he is quickly becoming.
